In her 2014 memoir, “In My Skin,” Griner describes a comfortable but constrained childhood. By middle school, she towered over her classmates and felt like an outcast. Kids called her “freak.” They antagonized her for her height, her undeveloped chest, her deepening voice. Once, a popular girl walked up to Griner and groped her. She turned to her friends and declared that Griner “must be a boy.” The constant harassment weighed on her, and she became anxious and depressed.

After Uber Cafe closed, Strasnick was presented an opportunity to start a second location there. On average 600 customers are served each weekday, and 1,000 customers served each day on the weekends. Sheldon Strasnick is the owner of the Muffin House Café.
